DESCRIPTION
Old Beach Boat is a color pencil drawing on medium tooth vellum paper. The work was done using a circular burnishing lawyering technique with minor black ink for additional contrasts. Approximately 17 hours of creation.
INTERPRETATION
Old Beach Boat was drawn by Shawn Malzahn while incarcerated in the spring of 2008. This piece was drawn with the intent of serving as a mental exercise for remembering pleasant childhood experiences. The boat and beach were sources of enjoyment for the artist.
