DESCRIPTION

Down Under the Sea is a color pencil drawing on medium tooth vellum paper. The work was done using a circular burnishing lawyering technique with minor engraving and white paint for additional highlights. Approximately 30 hours of creation.

INTERPRETATION

Down Under the Sea was drawn by Shawn Malzahn during the summer of 2022 as a birthday gift for a very special friend. The artist chose an underwater theme to show the imaginations appreciation for the great mysteries of our unexplored underwater world. The orca is a fan favorite of the artists friend.
