DESCRIPTION

Artist’s Mannequin is a color pencil drawing on medium tooth vellum paper. The work was done using a circular burnishing lawyering technique with minor engraving for additional highlights. Approximately 11 hours of creation.

INTERPRETATION

Artist’s Mannequin was drawn by Shawn Malzahn for his mother while  incarcerated during the spring of 2021. The artist’s mannequin represents us. Living life is an art. Eye is awareness & wisdom. Heart is love. Apple is charity & service. Infinity clock is patience. Sun is God. This depicts the universal and timeless practice of self-improvement. Improving character, personality, emotion, mind & spirit by living in accordance to God’s will rooted in higher virtue. The mannequin’s position is identical with the Sun’s rays (God) which signifies carrying out God’s will.
