FROGS IN A WELL

A story of perseverance and the power of words

Once upon a time, four frogs were traveling through the woods when all of a sudden two of them fell into a deep well. When the other frogs crowded around the top of the well and seen how deep it was, they told the other two frogs at the bottom that there was no hope left for them.

However, the two frogs at the bottom decided to ignore what the others were saying and they proceeded to try and jump out of the well with all their strength and might. Despite their best efforts, the two frogs at the top of the well were still saying that they should just give up. That they would never make it out.

Eventually, one of the frogs took heed to what the others were saying and finally gave up, falling down to its death. Yet the other frog continued to jump as hard as it could; even harder than before.

Again, the two frogs at the top of the well continued to yelled and plead with the frog at the bottom to stop trying and just die. This made the trapped frog jump even harder, and harder, and harder, until finally, it got out of the well.

When the frog reunited with the other two at the top, those two frogs said, “Did you not hear us?”, and the one frog explained to the others that he was indeed deaf. He explained that it thought they were offering words of encouragement the entire time!

ALWAYS REMEMBER…

Your words can have a BIG effect on the lives of others. Think about what you say before it comes out of your mouth. It might just be the difference between life and death.
