Something to think about...

Part of the problem with being homeless is being ostracized from society. Very few people are trying to be homeless, but unfortunately it does happen. A job loss, a medical emergency, a divorce... How many of us are a month or two away from the streets? We like to think we have control of our circumstances, but things can snowball out of control in the blink of an eye. Once someone is in the streets, possibly with mental health issues like depression, anxiety or schizophrenia, moving back to self-sufficiency can be a daunting and formidable task. You may feel alone and worthless. People avoid you or perhaps look at you like you're filth. You stop trying and just wait for your life to finish. It is at these times that something as simple as a meal from another human being can remind you that you matter. That you still belong. So yes, buying a meal for someone not only matters, but it might be the thing that matters most of all.
