7, 11, 7 FOR MY LOVE
Poetry by Shawn Malzahn
Mountains grow taller when you walk by,
While Oak Tree stretches his long limbs just to say “Hi”.
Cloud weeps rain when you are sad,
So the Suns of solar systems glow bright when your glad.
River runs dry when you walk away,
No need to be present when your graciousness is at bay.
Moon tilts to hear your steps clatter,
So quick to lean in like Jill’s Jake on the ladder.
Wild Rose blossoms when your breast beats,
While wherever you go Bird brings the best of her treats.
Loyal Lilly leaps from under fat Frog,
To make mat for your feet, “Oh so sweet” said Log.
Oceans of Love have I for you,
While I wait in the sudden silence waiting for “I do”.
INTERPRETATION
This poem was inspired by a very special someone. The poet seems to paint a beautiful image of a lovely woman enchanted with the grace of something divine that has the power to move everyone and everything in a wonderful way whenever she’s present.
